| god, Jiraia is such an obsessive creep. can't deny that he isn't intense as a villian, I'm excited for this arc. I hate that this is centered around Tsukuyo (Tsukki, how cute) cutting ties with her "womanhood" to become strong, to become "perfect". it's fucking gross, and she deserves so much better than that. I hope this progresses beyond that. I love that she no longer recognises Jiraia as her Master anymore, that already shows us how strong she is, she doesn't even know that Gintoki is alive and she's still rebelling. |
| I also really like this arc so far. Nice to see so much screentime vor Tsukuyo. Jiraia is so strong, I hope Gin-san can beat him. But now you can see how much he cares about Tsukuyo and she cares about Gin-san. <3 Wtf is wrong with Hattori likes ugly woman? wtf Curious what will happen next. |

| Really great episode, so fuck the hater who keep saying it's boring every single goddamn arc. Anyway, that was really intense and way much more intense than the first Yoshiwara arc. With Housen, the stake isn't that high since they're ganging up on him. He's already injured a bit from his fight with Kagura's brother, and then with all the Hakka and Gintoki attacking together too. With Jiraia it's much scarier since Gintoki had little to no experience fighting a ninja, and he's already have an advantage by spreading his string beforehand. Their difference in strength is pretty clear too, and I think it's the second near-death experience for Gin in the series (with the first in Benizakura arc) and honestly I prefer this one by a small margin. Even with what I said about Housen, the guy is still a fucking monster, tanking those attack repeatedly from Hakka's kunai and Gin's rapid attack of the Lake Toya sword. He literally lost one of his eye and it didn't affect him much, and you can really feel the intensity of his raw strength while he's punching Gintoki and swinging his umbrella around. If not for the Sun (deus ex machina) I think they're just gonna get beat up to a pulp by Housen there. Also if it's Housen vs Jiraia, it's probably gonna ended up with Housen just breaking the string with one strike from his umbrella lol. Could also explain why Jiraia chose to not appear during his reign, cause everyone's just afraid of him. |
| I felt the pacing was a little bit too fast, but otherwise the ep was really good. Jiraia looks to be a really badass villain, and his fighting style is awesome to watch. Also really glad Zenzou is here, as it's been wayyyy too long since he's made an appearance. I will say though, that I wish Tsukuyo had been a more recurring character before something like this happened. I still barely care about her at all, so the stakes didn't feel super high for me (Unless Jiraia now goes after Kagura and Shinpachi). I feel it would have been way more effective if Sacchan or something had replaced her, since it would have given the audience way more emotional attachment. The plot is still good though, and I'm interested to see where it goes. |

| That Jiraia guy is so annoying, he basically "created" Tsukuyo and made her how he wanted, that's why he had to kill Gintoki because he was changing her... well of course Gintoki isn't going to die like that but got pretty badly wounded :S Great arc so far |
