    the point at 8:10 hits kinda hard with the recent blood moon event, feels like killers were just completely forgotten during its design while making the game super easy for survivors, killers were an afterthought, just hoping its not gonna be a reoccurring issue with new events going forward

      Oh, it will be. Don’t worry. 😂 I think last year’s Halloween event was the first time I ever saw something unique designed JUST for killer for an event. The wraiths were fun, even if they were just a reskinned Vecna power. And being able to go into a whole separate area of the map was really unique.

    I agree with a lot of what you've said in this video. I think there is enough of a player base for an actual ranked mode to be a thing.
    I also think certain aspects of the game need to be looked at in terms of just quality of life changes.
    When I first started playing i was almost exclusively a killer main and gained Pig and Doc for the most part. Pretty quickly i started going against SWF and realized the plight of m1 killers.
    You could still 4k with them sure but it was way harder than say Nurse, blight or Billy. This was back in the days of everyone running dead hard, DS, borrowed time, etc.
    I do think the opposite can be true though with survivors having a real hard time in solo q or in lower ranks that aren't familiar with maps or all the killers yet.
    So there does need to be a balance and I think finding a way to make killers perks feel more impactful but not insanely broken would be a good start.
    While also making the survivor side as well as the whole game feel a bit more approachable with the random event modes being a permanent fixture. Chaos shuffle and 2v8 should just be part of the game now.
    There is a ton more but I've got a lot of love for the game on both sides and it has the potential to keep getting better. Bhvr seems to either just not listen to the community or does not play their own game... I do hope that it gets better though.
    For now I bet we'll get 'oh survivors are strong? Perfect Pig.'

    It’s so sad that everything for killer has to be based on Nurse, Blight, and now Ghoul, when killers differ so much between their different powers and overall strength. I think more killers should be individually balanced, with perk interactions nerfed more for certain killers than others. I’d love to see Trapper get some attention that isn’t just the Skull Merchant treatment. On hit validation: Plague’s power is inconsistent, and Hag sometimes just doesn’t swing on teleport, which is super important for her Bcs she’s a 110 killer who can’t really chase survivors.

    I think making ranked would be great and awful at the same time because sweats will still go into casual que to have an easier time but when you disable certain perks and recourses people will be mad

    Nice video, in the end it's 4v1. So there are much more survivor voices to complain and sway the devs to cater to them. The problem like you stated is that BHVR is catering to survivors and making it much easier to survive. Killers will leave the game once survivors get enough buffs and killers get no love. I kno Kaneki is broken but he will get nerfed and then it's back to the same old crap. The introduction of blood gens does add something different but it's not enough to keep playing the same killers and running the same loops. Permenant 2v8 or a 5v5 mode might make killers stick around longer but something has to change.

      Part of me hopes dbd moves towards 2v8 as that mode develops and improves. Like, this is meant to be a party game and yet only one side is having a party. My favourite moments on dbd are on that mode and there’s a good reason for that. It fundamentally changes how you think as killer, legion goes from C-tier M1 killer to S-Tier support character who can support their teammate. Blight becomes the chase specialist, nemesis gives great pressure as the Wesker sweeps up after him. Really, I think 2v8 provides dbd with the best chance for a continued future. All it really needs is something for the survivors to enjoy like a meme class, a secondary objective or a method to escape from the trial outside the generators. Hell these blood generators would be great on 2v8 if they were retooled a bit. I hope bhvr realises this.

      @@Deadman7600.I’m a HUGE fan of 2v8. Not only does it encourage those too nervous to try killer solo, but it creates so many cool ways to make plays together, meet other killer mains, and show off your skill a bit more! And in my opinion, bc there are preset classes, rather than individual perks you feel the pressure but you don’t feel out meta’d with four lithes, four windows, etc. Implement something like chaos shuffle with 2v8 and you have a jackpot. I hope to see something like this too soon.

      I always wonder about the cosmetic side. Like you said there should be more survivor players meaning there should also be more people buying skins for survivors especially bc you see your character with third person. That gotta influence BHVR decision making a lot.

    Great video, you make a lot of good points! Imo they need to add a ranked mode where the balancing of the game differs from regular mode and is balanced with swfs on comms in mind. The disparity between solo queue and full swfs is huge and I don’t see how they can even achieve some semblance of balance without ruining the experience of the other.

      They would never do that unless the game explodes in popularity. It's too much work for them when they struggly already giving trash tier killers simple buffs. Like look at trapper he is bad but would really hurt so much to give him double the amount of traps at the start of the trial? Simple shit like that won't make the character S tier and also wouldn't rly bother anyone so why not do it

    a lot of the points You make here honestly are good and its what a lot of people in the community feel and I know there are a lot more but for some reason people are afraid to speak their minds on such topics having fear of backlash and in turn does not help the game cause as BHVR sees the community at their throats, they don't fix anything and adds 4 seconds to a perk or have it deactivate at end game and "its working as intended" instead of brainstorming on how to make it actually beneficial for both sides... over all GGS homie good video!

  • @SuperCosmicSpaceMagnet
    @SuperCosmicSpaceMagnet 3 дня назад

    The rhetoric I see on RUclips & Steam suggests that players live in this horrible world of constant verbal abuse, but it's like I'm playing a totally different game. The overwhelming majority of matches for me just end in either nothing, a swapping of GGs, or even some laughs/playful banter if I've been doing something especially silly as Killer (Mad Grit Huntress seemed to be a hit with survivors!).
    I can't say how other killers behave, but sometimes I wonder if the game really is as bad as online commentors say or if it's just Twitter being Twitter.

      I’m glad you have had fun experiences, its really nice when endgame chat is respectful and mutual. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who experience toxicity when they play killer. Negativity finds its way into every game. It’s very real. I don’t use Twitter bc I feel it takes the focus away from the important parts of these convos. Thanks for watching ❤

      @@MissBishManders I wonder what it is that causes such different experiences between players. I'm only at 120 hours, so I suspect my matchmaking places me at lower levels - so I'm likely among the less competitive brackets. I certainly found in games like League of Legends that player hostility was at its highest once you reached advanced levels of play (Diamond for example), as players are more emotionally invested in success. Perhaps the same is true in DBD?
      In any case, thanks for the video. Very well presented!

    • @MissBishManders

      @@SuperCosmicSpaceMagnetwelcome to the dbd community! I love seeing new players coming in. In my opinion when you have a dedicated competitive space where every player’s goal is to learn, improve and bring their best to the game, the energy is so fun. Of course there will always be players that bring beef outside the game which is never okay, and it just sucks the fun out of the gameplay. This is a lot of people’s assumption that creating a competitive mode for dbd will make things more toxic but I honestly disagree. I think it will be exactly the same. So we shouldn’t toss the idea out as a community just yet. ❤

    • @otsugua77
      @otsugua77 2 дня назад

      It might be bc of various factors like mmr, server, and the time of the day

    • @SuperCosmicSpaceMagnet
      @SuperCosmicSpaceMagnet 2 дня назад

      @ I don't mean that a competitive mode would create or encourage toxicity, but rather that player investment is a contributing factor to negative behaviours. We see this across all sorts of media, where a product's most vitriolic critics are often its fans as they are so emotionally invested that minor gripes FEEL like personal affronts.
      Players that are highly emotionally invested in DBD are likely those who've played to the point of being very knowledgeable and competent, and matchmaking will usually consequentially bunch them into the same bracket of play. If you are also in that bracket, you'll be more frequently encountering people with high levels of emotional investment in the outcome of games - whether the mode be self-styled as competitive or not.
      I think having a competitive mode makes a lot of sense. The points you make are very reasonable, and fundamentally I think it's a good thing when all players in a PvP game are aiming for similar outcomes from the gameplay experience. When all five players want to push the game to its limits, everyone has a great time. When all five players want to derp around with silly builds and boop snoots, everyone has a great time. Conflict happens when lobbies are mixed between the two.

      This is something I've thought about too. Exit gates regressing like untapped gens would be pretty dope. Doesn't have to be insane speeds, just a slight regression over time so survivors must make a choice between staying in the trial or leaving. And if you pop it open, you now have to focus and play your endgame as efficiently as you can. A race against the clock, which makes endgame plays a lot more fun, feels more rewarding and incentivizes teammate collaboration. Thanks for watching

  • @apkhbmbgamlkbh1531
    @apkhbmbgamlkbh1531 3 дня назад

    I don't think a ranked mode would be a good idea. They should add the old rank system or something like it because it was way better than what we have now where you are mostly rewarded for just playing a lot. Instead it would be best to buff more of the weaker killers. Even if you play a strong killer games can be quite demanding if the survivors are good but I wouldn't mind that if I knew the killer I'm playing isn't total garbage. It would also be cool if you could ban certain maps or get like map specific buffs for killers who struggle hard on certain maps. Overall I still love playing DBD just wish certain killers would feel better to play. Survivor to me feels fine. Not playing much currently but before that I used to mostly play survivors with friends because it's fun and chill and idc about escaping as long as I can make some nice plays.
