This is very educational video but now some dishonest players (which use warpack) can fake that they learned from you how-to do it. I have replay from last Sunday where Brindisi hit 2 times in row no-spotted Z-49 in smoke. From last volley all bullets hit on DD. Destroyer didn't fire and was maneuvering at full speed. In addition this smoke was emitted by opponent Ognievoi.
Flamu in cyclone: "ahh, a perfect time to improve your blindfire skills"
90% of players in cyclone: taps "W" 100 times WE GOING HAM BOIS!
And then there is me: "ah shit here we go again- another damage limiting factor" :D
Me: "This looks like a good time to practice secondary guns!"
@@kickit246 every captain on a BIsmarck LMAO
It took 9 cits for that Minotaur to realize that even in smoke you need to angle...
People still think smoke makes them invulnerable.
true. That's how you can tell that somebody is probably not a DD main. Because in a DD, the first thing you learn after reaching Tier 7 (or maybe even sooner) is that smokes do NOT make you invincible, just a little harder to see.
@@TheExecutorr I reached t8 dds and i can't remember getting seriously damaged in a smoke expect torps ofc which is why i usually use my smoke for cruisers then try to spot enemy dds, smoke like this is much more efficient but it doesn't give much exp-credits sadly..
If you're firing from smoke, it's always a good mindset to assume someone with Flamu's talent is aiming at you.
@@ggoddkkiller1342 smoke up in DDs may be frustrating when a Kleber snuck up right next to you with that reload booster, or getting radar'd and smolensk'd in a smoke, or stalingrad'd or radartaur'd... you get the idea
Devastating strikes on Smolensks
firing at you from a smoke are one of the most satisfying things you could do in this game 😂
Deleted one Smolensk with my Yamato with blindfire in Ranked, he started whining about cheating. :D Best feeling ever.
@@NikolaPj another demonstration that the Smolensk is NOT the OP ship that everybody is crying about. I think it is the easiest T10 ship to kill in the whole game. In the meantime, the only thing it can do to you is chip damage that only impacts you over time.
@@VuHien2011 Apart from the fact that requires skill and a little bit of luck to blind fire in the smoke, I would not say that the Smolensk is the most easy ship to kill. On countre I never seen so much defensive tolls on a ship's apart from the Mino. In My Hindenburg it's completely insanely difficult to chase a Smolensk which is not been cornered. While I get a lot of damage by 130 millimiter who should not be able to penetrate my armor!
@@VuHien2011 we used to killed a Smolenk in direct fight, using 2 tier 8 ships (Amalfi and Mass). The fact that he died from full heath and both of us alive give the most sastifiled feeling ever
@@antoniodigiorgio8647 On the contrary of a Colbert, the Smolensk has a flat arc. It means that in order for it to shoot at anything, the Smolensk has to move away from Islands. So, its only defense is to not eat any shell from any angle. Even a heavy cruiser has no issue penetrating it from extreme angles. And in the future, WG will even reduce its 30 mm armor to even less. It means that not only a heavy cruiser can pen from extreme angle but also from perfect bow angling or rear. There are only 3 smokes and each smoke last for a little more than 1 minute. The Smolensk still need to survive the rest of the 20 minutes without smoke. The damage that a Smolensk can do is a chip damage over time. On the contrary, any BB can blab the Smolensk with one single well placed salvo and in the future, even cruiser salvo
just as i suspected , he uses his mouse to aim , the cunning devil .
Was looking forward to this kind of video for a long time. So glad you are such a good CC and helping the other players with the basics of the game, not only featuring the ships. Cheers Flolo!
@Mathew Long although, this kind of gameplay should be basic and / or normal, but because there are a lot of braindeads in this game, you are pretty much right
Flamu in 2015: "Here is a video on how to sit in smoke as a DD and rain HE on BBs."
Flamu in 2019 "Here is a video on how to tear apart DDs that sit in smoke and fire HE at BBs"
Thank you master Flamu, this video really makes me (and many others) way less depressed after seeing the directives...
Damn, they were like punching me in the stomach.. i was so hyped about the seeing the building process, reading the information, doing the missions, etc.. and ofc finally getting this beauty.. shit they fckin trolled me so much that i am starting to see it funny, i mean, you have to be able to laugh out yourself when trolled this hard
@@jozseftoth8731 you're not the only one mate... I was really looking forward into building the Puerto Rico, but now that we've seen what it would take??? Hell no!!
Or in my experience this video should also be called “ A how to get reported & make shitty players type raging messages guide” 🤣🤣.
🤣
That lock on is great, I figured it would draw shells towards the other ship.
You're actually training us to become jedi knights
Damn @Flamu, within hours of watching this I Dev struck a Smolensk in smoke in Ranked. Great video. Thanks!
I had a Neptune call me a cheater because I citadelled him four times in a row with four of my blind Musashi salvos. That did feel really good.
Or dev-striking a Smolensk in smoke with my Kii. Satisfying.
Good vid. Just try stuff.
Thank you very much for this guide! I've been following you and your channel for a few month and i've already learned a lot. You are a very good player but also a very good teacher! congratulations for the 80K on RUclips, well deserved
This is a must-see guide for every WoWS player if they want to improve their shooting skills. Kudos to Flamu for sharing his knowledge!
BTW if you are not sure about where your shells will land (I mean their approximate points of impact) when blind firing, just fire a single turret and observe the projectile trajectory for additional guidance. Of course this will decrease the weight of your salvo but you can't have it all :)
This is one of the most useful guides ever. Thank you Flamu.
Congratulations Flamu. And thanks for the guide, some quite useful information, I'm going to try it. Well, I did fire in to smoke, but wasn't really hitting stuff much. The lock on trick and aiming slightly lower then the shell tracers were new for me, so thank you.
Much appreciated :)
The Greater Flamu is finally back with this kind of vids. Thank you Flamu!
Thanks god Flamu decide to make this video to help fight those fire starter cancers.....THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
"Just take one more shot, it's a good habit to build; just take one more shot, then one more shot, then take another one, build up that habit"
Me: my credits slowly bleeding away after every match until I am not breaking even anymore 😂
Activates smoke - "yes, I'm INVINCIBLE!!!"
*gets blindfired & citadeled*
People don't know the difference between Cover and Concealment lol
long range blind fire is even more useful in Atlanta, by choosing targets further than 13.3km that move toward u, u can actually burn down ships without even get spotted in the open sea.
Works well in Le Terrible, slow down speed up slow down speed up.
Great info cheers and grats on hitting 80!
This is why this guy videos will make you a better player. Only reason when I first started playing this game I went from low 40's to 50's WR overall by watching his videos. This is awesome! These videos if you pay attention will increase your WR for sure.
Real pog hours. Congrats on the 80k and good luck for 2020
I had seen most of the blindfire hints before, but I never before saw that trick of abusing the lock-on. Thank you.
It's not abusing. It is a known mechanic and used as intended, to improve dispersion.
@@daszieher perfectly balansed, as all things should be
@@Schimml0rd the issue of balance is something entirely different.
However, ship's guns are marine artillery. Direct fire should be avoided. If you have someone spotting for you, or you can avoid being fired upon while firing, why not?
Firing by minimap had been possible since a long time.
What a great video to celebrate your milestone with!
Bravo Flamu! Real masterclass - thank you and have a nice Christmas time!
Thanks for the knowledge Flamu.
now my k/d ratio increase. because of "ehh... I will take one more shot" habbit.
I remember every game vs OM/OMNI/CR33D/WGP2W and other clans of the same caliber exactly due to the opportunistic blind-shots... I play mainly DM in CB and due to the more stationary positioning for this ship I constantly need to avoid shells, even when I have not been spotted.
Great video, thanks.
Blindfire guide for when the glue sniffing experience was too intense! I see @Flamu, making vids for an ever expanding player base subculture 🤔
Jokes made in Germany put aside, well done guide,👏😊
What an evil art of heretic sorcery!
I like it, thx for sharing.
That a very helpful vid. Time to practice it now. Thanks
Hahaha I still remember the video where PhlyDaily gave you a shoud out and you're like "holy **** how did thid happen??" I think you were doing a review on the Kiev....
Well deserved Flamu! Thanks for your great guides and time to make everyone who watches a better player!
I always try to smoke fire, but I picked up a few tips thanks. The lock on to something else for improved dispersion seems a no brainer, but somehow I just never made that connection!
the slightly longer version of this guide should have included some information on where to aim corresponding to the shell tracers (higher, lower...)
but in general: thumbs up
He mentions aim lower since the turrets are on the top of the ship
@@rickdiesel2k yea but how much lower in general? would love to know that too
@@thomas.02 well that would depend on the target that you're shooting at, wouldn't it?
Picture the x-ray of the target ship and superimpose the tracers to get an idea of its attitude towards you and where you want your shots to be landing.
Congrats on the 80k!!👍👍
that's interesting, I didn't knew about locking on another ship behind to improve dispersion.
There are other things I use : if a ship disappear because he doesn't want you to shoot at him, and he has an island on is way to escape and you are really close to spot him passively, shoot where he will most likely go to escape you, if he tried to escape that way, good you may have struck him, if he run a ground well, your shoots misses but your are gonna spot him and next salvo will be a hits (if RNJesus want it so).
There is also an alternative situation where when he goes undetected but is so close to you that his only way to escape you is to go right away from you , shoot behind is last position.
What I have also found, is for ship that try to escape your fire by swinging the rudder, once they go undetected, they will often swing the rudder the other way he was when they got undetected , so no for you not to use the technic of the circle on the mini-map.
Thanks for the tips Flamuu!, i really love your vids!
Congratz on 80K flamu!
Lol me sitting here with 7 subs... one day...
Some hackerman shit going on here fam, love it, thanks Flamu
This is really useful.
Really big THANK YOU for content, what U making for comunity .... and also congratzz to 80k ;-)
THX for this tips! This will help after a Little practis :-))))
there is little that gives more pleasure than dev strik a smolensk in the smoke
could you explain what the lock on is for at 8:04?
Without locking onto a ship your shells fly every direction. If you lock onto another enemy ship lets say the enemy Montana , then fire at the mino/smolensk/dd whos hiding in smoke. Locking onto an enemy automatically tightens up your shell dispersion, so even though you can't lock onto the smoke target, you've used another enemy ship to do the same thing.
Hell-ooo hello @Flamu Amazing skill to know, almost feel a bit sorry for that first minotaur. Maybe you said it already but i missed it, why are you locking a ship behind it? and do it have to be behind it or is it enough that it is in the same area?
@flamu sorry didnt understand that how do i get the map bigger?
Hi, thx for the video.
I didn't understand the lock thing you spoke in aiming, with zoom out ....
You found literally the only thing storms are good for in this game
Except for the ,,lock on" on another ship I was already using all of this. Good tip for next time. Thank you.
congrats on your 80 K
Flamu, thank you for this video. Per usual, excellent.
However, I have one question. I noticed that you suggested locking on to another target in order to get a better dispersion. I'm not sure how this could possibly work - when I am locked onto the wrong target and fire, my shells land closer to wrong target. In other words, locking onto the wrong target doesn't just make my dispersion more tight, it also causes the shells to land in a completely different area. Can you explain how this all works together with smoke fire?
Use the mini map circle and last known position on the map. If they're spamming shells from the same position, you have an easy hit. If you miss, adjust forward or backward from their map marker. You have to compensate you mouse movement for the lock on auto tracking the wrong ship though.
Is there any chance to get a review of the Somers...the version u tested in the past was heavily changed and the discount coupon runs out soon. Thx in advance
makes it look so easy lol time to practice :p
Thank you, that was very informative
Flamu, what if you dont have any spotter? Sometimes I fire way past the smoke.
The one part of blind firing I hate is firing over islands if my curser can’t get open water. I can target the island or the one behind it but not the open water between, until they are spotted and then magically I can aim there. It’s the one part of the target lock I hate, especially when the lock flicks in and out with the spotting. It’s like the gunners can’t hold the guns for a sec or two after a target disappears.
This is tough stuff to learn
Congrats on 80k. Now only 541k more then you past Jingles
Congratz man!
Congrats on hitting 80K!!
So, zänk u 4 zatt, but what is the ship with the fastest gun velocity and fastest reload with thikest AP shells?
WG: and we will now test our playerbase's patience and tolerance to our BS, we will try everything
Hi Flamu, thanks for a great video. One question, though. You said that Smolensk was an exception because you have aim lower below where the tracer starts, compared to other ships. Are there any other such exceptions, or is Smolensk the only one?
Apparently all he tracers render a bit late compared to ap tracers iirc
Wondering how to turn into that aerial view while shooting ? Thanks in advance !
gratz on 80k
As Morpheus already said "dont think you are, know you are"
Sandbox mode? How do access it?? I can't find anything on it...
What I like to do in bbs is carpet bombing invisible enemies. Just hold down the mouse for sequential fire and then draw the circle in which direction you expect the guy to turn. Works quite well for me
Flamu thanks for the vid but my problem is I cant get that little circle on the mini map stable it moves too quickly the slightest movement of my mouse and it move too far!
Have you tried to modify your mouse settings? Most of the mice with programmable buttons allow you to set one of the buttons as a mouse resolution switch. What it means is that by pressing it, you switch into a mode where the mouse moves much slower. You cannot do that in Windows mouse settings, it requires your mouse driver software. For example, I have a Logitech mouse and in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, where the clock, wifi connection and others are, there's a Logitech icon. By clicking on it, I get access to myriads of mouse settings. Hope this helps.
Excellent Flamu!!!
Thanks for the guide

What you can do when your team all runs from all the caps , I need help with that !
Great video... Thank you
Interesting idea for Special... 😂
I'm still struggle to hit this rock huggers!
Damn, flamu, now all noobs can punish me in smokes. Damn you. :)
Ok, noob question - How do you lock-on to a ship? Is it the same for torps?
When you aim close to it, it either locks on automatically or you press the X key. And, yes, it's the same mode as when you're aiming with torps and it shows you how much to lead them.
congrats
Hey flamu - what do you thing about new puerto riko shitstorm? :D
The circle on the minimap is the biggest legal cheat in the game in my opinion. I remember a time when it was an X in Aslains mod pack and you used to frown upon the use of it. But now it is just another part of the gameplay.
Congrats!!
Flamu please cud ye do a video on how to blind fire dual purpose torps?
very useful vidéo . Thank you
Thank to your advice on blind fire i one shotted a full HP Mino with my NC xD
Even after this video, there will still be people who will report the guy who blind-shoots them because "ofc nobody is better than me,he must be cheating to blind-kill me"😂😂
upvote for devastating that Smolensk
Rapid Fire gunfire from within smoke, against a competent player that knows how to Blind Fire, is really only telling them where to aim at. The faster the ROF, the player can't help but keep the LMB pressed down, and that only confirms to the competent opponent where you're at.
Even some BB players are good at this despite the slow ROF. If they put up a Spotter Plane, you better hope they don't know what they're doing.
Besides the obvious damage you can rack up like this, the psychological effect can be just as devastating to the enemy's overall chances of winning. Even if you don't kill them outright, it lets them know that their smokes are not some magical safe haven, and that can seriously rattle people and make them second-guess themselves. In my experience, that kind of anxiousness immediately cripples a player's willingness to take any sort of risk, and that forces them further and further back and into irrelevance.
Very interesting video, lots to try now. O7
in other words , Flamu ask you to keep shooting so you are still detected if he is one smoked up to keep your self spotted so he can shoot you back.
I'm all for it Flamu , just keep trolling pls.
Also, ships in smoke are very likely to be broadside on, and much more vulnerable.
I can’t remember which map it was, but I blind fired a Leander (showing full broadside) twice from behind an island in a New Mexico, citadel him both time and took him out. Feels great destroying someone trying to have a good time lol.
If you target another ship for better dispersion you need to take into account that the game will adjust the vertical aim. You can completely miss the smoked up target sometimes. Just like when you shoot at two ships going paralel right next to each other. If you have the wrong one targeted the vertical adjustment will fuck up your shot, the shells land nowhere near where you aimed.
Interesting point. Locking on does impact the vertical axis of the aim, indeed. But this didn't seem to interfere with Flamu's aim. Is it his skill, or is this impact very small?
How do you lock on ?
you're so good 👍👍.. i'm glad you dont play in asia server 😁. thanks for the tips 🙏
Great vid!
Best video ever
7:11 hitmarker?
The explosion from the overpen, he hit the bow or stern. He knows to aim more center judging by the enemy shell arc and where his hit marker (explosion) was for the overpen
Ah, so in this example if you hit the bow or stern with AP, you'll get an explosion as a visual effect, and if you get a citadell, there won't be an explosion, right?
