Too Early?

she is so cute ;) and it seems she might go crazy with the christmas tree with all the decorations and knock it all over the place.

Kind of what I'm afraid of. She plays pretty hard.

nice tree  but too early for me

We'll see. Might start with a few of the plastic decorations.

My sister-in-law decorates my tree every year (and to a lesser extent, my niece and nephew help her). The kids wanted to put my tree up, so I let them do it a little early this year.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
I leave mine up until New Year's Day, so I'm afraid it would dry out while I'm out of town and then burn my house down after I got back. Course, I guess that would add some drama to the holidays. But other than that, nah, get in the Christmas spirit as early as you can and enjoy it as much as you can.

And BTW, it's also not too early to start shopping for my gift either! You left it a little late last year, huh? That whole "dang, all the stores were closed by the time I headed out on Christmas Eve!" ain't gonna work again this year! :nono:

At least wait until December!

Depends...not if you plan on posting a naked pic each day, of you under the tree.

I'm putting up my tree sometime this coming week, without decorations. I want to see if the kitten is going to knock it over or leave it alone before I put the decorations on it. ;-)

She's kind of shady.

We're taking a wait and see attitude with our cat Sam...he tends to be the spawn of Satan when there are new things to play with.

Yeah. About 8 years ago we put up the tree, and we have nothing but large glass bobbles and lights on it. Come home, cat has knocked the tree down, hardwood floor covered with broken glass ornaments. Nearly killed the cat.

Now I put hooks in the wall, and even if the cat knocks the tree over, it can't fall. These days our Christmas tree is around 12 feet tall.

You have splendid window treatments.

Have something similar not as nice as yours but since I am kinda lazy, I have left it up downstairs pre-decorated with lights and ornaments and just plug it in when I'm ready. A year round artificial tree. Problem is don't go downstairs much and holidays are no big deal ha. Peace and love peace and love peace and love. Maybe this is the year.

Awww she's adorable! I'm pretty lucky. Lola doesn't even really acknowledge the trees existence ! Haha

That looks awesome! Can she come and decorate my tree next year?!

Well they were, it's not my fault.

12 feet! Wow!!!! I need to see pics of that! It must look awesome!

I think that once you all have your trees up then you show snap some pics and post them in this thread! I would love to see them all. :)

What made you mad? A or B? Cause you asked for A. And B, c'mon I'm just honest. It's not bad, sweety, it just looks a bit carelessly decorated. And somehow it looks like a fake tree? :dunno:

WHAT?! I rather think it's pretty overloaded. That's just too much. You don't even recognize the shape of the tree anymore.

But well to each their own. Tastes differ and it doesn't have to meet mine. :)

Yeah... again though, that's not me.

The cornice board was done by my sister-in-law, and the blinds are done by some dude who only makes blinds. That's all he does. He's Dave the blinds guy. And he's awesome. And by awesome, I mean really expensive.

I don't think it's too early. We have the leaves of fall and the harvest holidays. It's nice to see the decorations as we draw into the colder months.

As far as the Christmas buying season goes, there is good reasoning for this. In retail, 2/3 of the business is done in 1/3 of the year. Back to school is a huge undertaking. It's tons of little shit that never gets marked down for clearance. It all has to be packed away to be inventoried come January. Christmas shit starts rolling into the stores in July. Fixtures have to be set up and space has to be expanded. Waiting till after Thanksgiving to set up is just not possible. It makes no sense to hide it in the back room if it were even possible. Think about how many different Christmas items a store will carry. The trees, the lights, the decorations, the outdoor stuff, the table and kitchen, wraps, boxes, bows, bags and tape. We haven't even started with the toys and gifts. Don't forget the everyday goods that still have to be maintained.
